The PTO is excited to welcome Cedar Park families to another school year, and to extend an open invitation for you to get involved with the school’s parent teacher organization. We meet monthly to discuss fundraising, school-wide events, allocating funds, and much, much, more.
The new fall fundraiser – Color Explosion – is just around the corner!! On October 10th students, families, and community members will come to Cedar Park to participate in a 3K color run. It will be a great day to hang out with friends, meet new people, and get some exercise… all to raise money for Cedar Park! Many volunteers are still needed to make this a successful event. This year we added two new spirit night fundraisers at local restaurants in Apple Valley:
* Chick-fil-A: Five times during the year Cedar Park PTO will earn 10% of ALL sales (both dinein and drive thru). At our first Chick-fil-A night (Sept. 22) Cedar Park earned $295.05! Our remaining spirit nights are November 24, January 26, March 29, and May 24 from 5:30-7:30pm. Volunteers will be needed to help greet guests, refill drinks, wipe tables, work the spinning wheel, and more. Please consider helping out at one or more of these energy-filled fundraising nights!!
* Smashburger: Four times during the school year Cedar Park PTO will earn $1 for every entree sold. No need to say you’re with Cedar Park – just spread the word and bring your friends to dine at Smashburger from 4:00-8:00pm on October 27, December 22, February 23, and April 26.
Since school ended last spring, the PTO has had the privilege of financially supporting some wonderful projects at Cedar Park:
$20,000 to Cedar Park STEM School for the new Maker’s Space
$6,500.00 for the Energy House
$1,577.95 for staff t-shirts
$1,098.22 for building supplies and safety equipment to build the Gaga Pit near the playground (Eagle Scout project)
2,800 Scholastic Dollars for 2 iPad listening centers, and books for the new Maker’s Space about technology, engineering, and history
Our next meeting will be on Monday, October 12th, at 6:30 p.m. in the library. We will discuss the color explosion fundraiser results, plan our first Family Night, and much more. We hope to see you there!
